Landscape. Painted with ink and pigments on silk. Signed Gyokuho and sealed.
Hasegawa Gyokuhō (1822-1879) was a Japanese artist active during late Edo (1603-1868) to Meiji period (1867-1912). He studied under a prominent artist from Shijo school, Matsumura Keibun. Hasegawa Gyokuho was adept at bird and flower painting.
Some insignificant light marks are present on the painting and mounting, otherwise the piece is in fine condition. It is accompanied by an original paulownia wood storage box with the artist’s signature.
