Goto Kyoh'u(1907-1973) was a Japanese painter born in Nagano Prefecture in Japan. He studied under Hashimoto Kansetsu(1907-1973). Later, he became a pupil of Maeda Seison(1885-1977)and developed a painting style typical of the Edo art(Toto art)world.

Some light marks and foxing are present on the painting itself, otherwise the painting and scroll mounting is in good condition with the age. The piece is accompanied by an original double paulownia wood storage box , which indicates the piece has been very well respected and treated.
