Autumn Landscape and mountain village. Painted with ink and pigments on silk.
Taoka Shunkei(1887-1969)was a Japanese painter born in Tokushima prefecture. His real name is Tokisaburo. He studied paintings from a prominent artist, Komuro Suiun(1874-1945).
He has won many prizes at Teiten imperial art exhibition as well as Nitten art exhibition. He is a member of the Japan Art Association and a director of The Nippon Nanga-in incorporated Association.
Some marks, foxing and insignificant light crease are present on the painting itself, otherwise the painting and scroll mounting is in very good condition with the age. It is accompanied by a paulownia wood storage box.
